Tenterfield is located 18km from the Queensland border in New South Wales and is about a 3 hour drive from Brisbane. From Sydney it is a 10 hour drive to get here. Tenterfield is located in the Northern Tablelands area, close to many National Parks, and is on the very western edge of the Great Dividing Range. Surrounding Tenterfield are hills on 3 sides and conveniently located in a valley that allows for echoes to reverberate across the area which is great for the local birdlife.
